I just got back from another road trip with the kids. As always, it's good to be home.
We drove northeast to St. Johns, AZ which is about 4 hours away from our home in Phoenix. The reason was that my sister, Tami, was moving into a new home with her three children. She decided to leave her fiance' who was being abusive to her. I am really, really proud of her in making this step! It isn't easy going it alone, especially with three children, but she says she was doing everything herself anyway. Tami has a great job and is able to support her family well. Her two oldest {the baby is only 6 months} said they were glad to have moved out.
Tami's new home is furnished so there wasn't a whole lot we had to do in the way of unpacking. Just mostly clothes and personal belongings. We also ran to the grocery store to stock her fridge, freezer and cupboards.
The bonus was that Saturday was Brennon's 11th birthday {Tami's son} and it was great to be up there with him to celebrate. We drove to Show Low, about 40 minutes away from St. Johns, and played at the 'Family Fun Park'. We rode Go Carts for almost 2 hours and did a round of goofy golf. Then we went to the park and ate pizza. Super fun!
The drive to and from St. Johns went pretty well. I thought Tucker, my 2 year old, would have a hard time but he was by far the best and most well behaved the whole time.
Over all, we had a fantastic trip and we're so thrilled to have been able to spend time with our family. It was especially nice to see baby Alesia. This visit was only our 3rd time seeing her since she's been born. She is such a beautiful baby girl and growing way too fast.
We drove from the nice cool northern Arizona weather to 109F here in Phoenix!! I wasn't expecting it to be this hot when we returned...I guess we'll be going to the water park this weekend. {And every day there after!}

5 Royal Remarks:
Good for Tami!
This kind of situation is tough all around, and a supportive family makes all the difference.
And how 'bout that heat, huh? We hit 99 yesterday, with the Texas humidity thrown in.
Yeehaw, summer!
Good for your sister and good for you for supporting her! I hope she and her kids get a better experience from now on.
My sister was in a bad marriage, and thank heavens she got out. I am always so proud of the ones who take themselves out of the situation. Hallalujah!
Bless you Autumn for being there! Tammi is all the better for this! It will change the babies lives!
You are a good sister... to us all! That's why we love you!
