After two long years, Ren’s mission is finally over, and it’s time for Ida Mae, Arlette, and Tansy to travel to Mexico to pick him up. They have their itinerary all planned out—visiting the ruins in the
Yucatan, shopping, playing in the sand and surf—and then they’ll head to Ren’s mission home and be reunited with that dear boy. But
a wanted antiquities thief crosses their path, and soon the ladies find themselves tangled up in a web of lies, intrigue, and costly jewelry. Held hostage by men desperate for riches, they do what only they
can do—keep their heads about them, plan their escape, and discuss the proper making of tortillas.
Will they survive their most harrowing adventure yet?
My Review:
Laugh Out Loud! This book is a delight! Ida Mae, Arlette, and Tansy are the most quirky characters, who purely entertain.
This fourth Secret Sisters Mystery carries along the main story line, but can hold its own, too.
The three elderly friends can never steer from trouble, for it always seems to find them. What is so fun about the characters, is they're so willing to fall into the same traps from the past- the path of trouble!
Like me, these gals are just intrigued, and curious, but once you're in too deep there's no turning back! (Which is a great analogy for this book. Once you start reading, you're intrigued, and therefore one can never go back!)
Like the other Secret Sister books, Tristi Pinkston has me calling these books, "afternoon in my bed and can't put down book". There's nowhere I'd rather be, than in my bed reading her wonderful, fun, highly entertaining books!
Thank you, Tristi, for the opportunity to enjoy, love, and review your book! It's always a pleasure!
About the Author:
With her crisp writing style and attention to detail, author Tristi Pinkston has won the hearts of readers the world over with her historical fiction and now with her cozy mysteries.
"I'm a stay-at-home mom, a home schooler, a media reviewer, an editor, a regular presenter at the LDStorymakers' writers conference, a Cubmaster, and a headless chicken.
In addition to the novels I write, I maintain a blog which contains tips for aspiring authors and also my own personal ramblings, which sometimes make sense and sometimes do not.
I enjoy reading, watching good movies, and making scrapbooks. I enjoy cooking and consider it a minor miracle when I can get all four children to like the same meal. I also enjoy making shopping lists (which I sometimes actually use), spending time with my kids, and taking Sunday afternoon naps, which are so necessary." -Tristi Pinkston
