Every Christmas Season- Warren and I host a 'Secret Santa' activity with several friends. It is such a blast to be apart of and everyone enjoys it. This year we have 14 families involved, wow!
How we do it is:
One representative from each family comes to our home to draw their families' name by the end of November. Since it is SECRET Santa- as the hosts- we don't even want to know who has who. It's much more fun this way.
Beginning December 1st until December 24th each family is in charge of dropping off something at the home of their secret family a minimum of 3 times. Don't get caught!!!- is the motto. Weather a ding dong ditch by night or an afternoon stealth mission -it's really to each family's discretion. The gifts can be homemade or store bought. Each drop off can never cost over $10. It can be a lot less but no more then. The more creative the better. Also, we ask that each family tries to involve all their children in all the activities and drop offs. Little ones love this kind of stuff.
In January, we meet at our church building for a dessert bar and game night to reveal who had who... and to tell funny stories each family has to share. That's always fun making guesses and finding out the truth.
We really enjoy this December activity we have made into a tradition. If you happen to be looking for something fun to do this season...copy this idea. It's a blast!

That sounds like fun! so what are some of the gift ideas that you do? I need a gift idea for around $10.
We've gone to the $ store and purchased really cute cocoa mugs, hot cocoa, mallows, chocolate chips and plastic spoons. You melt the chips and then dip the spoons several times for a chocolate shell. After they are hardened- wrap the spoons in plastic wrap and tie a little bow on each spoon handle. In a gift bag add the mugs, cocoa, mallows and chocolate dipped spoons. It costs right around 10 bucks and people love it!
We also like to get the "Advent Calendars" to start off December. You can find those at many stores. They are from 1$ -2$ a piece.
We've done a 'coupon book' for a family. Like babysitting for them, helping with their yard or washing their car.
We make a lot of fun things too- Like homemade ornaments or a candy wreath with a pair of scissors attached to it so they can snip off candies. Last year I made a super cute Christmas Countdown calendar with scrapbooking paper, a clipboard, lots of ribbon and modge podge. That was super adorable and well received.
