The BEST Christmas Eve!

We had a great Christmas Eve with our extended family.  We have us, and three of Warren's siblings, and their families who live in Utah. All four families got together for Christmas Eve.

First, as per tradition, we met at a Chinese restaurant, in the late afternoon.  It was delicious.

Then, everyone made their way to our house for "FUNtivities"!

We played a couple group games with everyone- Telephone and the Cup Game/Race.
Aunt Melissa became the one to beat in the Cup Game, and she ended up winning!
It was super fun, and the kids loved it.
{I purposely set it up to where games involved everyone, with nobody pairing off to play games.}

 Afterward, we decorated sugar cookies, yum!
The cookies were shaped as Bells, Santa hats, Stars, Gingerbread Man, Christmas Trees and Snowmen. We did red and green frosting, with sprinkles.
The kids loved it.

Moving on, we did the kids' White Elephant Game/Exchange.  We had a fun time, and so did most of the kids.  There were some kids who ended up crying because they didn't get what they wanted.
That part of the night was not much fun- rather annoying, but kids will be kids.
{We did the adult White Elephant Game, later.}

Then, we did the Nativity with the kids. The kids dressed up, and Kaleb played Christmas music on his guitar for us. Warren was the narrator.
It was cute seeing the kids, and funny. I LOVED it!

Before everyone left, we had hot chocolate, sandwiches, dips, donuts, and such.  Also, Warren looked online where Santa was making his deliveries, at that very moment.
The party was super fun, and I got lots of compliments.  We hope our coming Christmas Eve's will be this fun. It really was the perfect Christmas Eve with family!

After everyone left, we continued on with our traditions.
We put cookies that we had decorated out for Santa, we left reindeer food in our front yard,
we read The Night Before Christmas, and the kids opened their gift of Christmas jammies.

The BEST Christmas Eve!
